EMG UK saved over 300 tonnes of emissions so far with the move, the equivalent of powering an average UK house for over 103 years.
We are proud to reveal that our move to recycled biofuels has helped save over 300 tonnes of emissions so far, the equivalent of powering an average UK house for over 103 years.
As part of our sustainability strategy, EMG became the first OB and facilitities company in the UK to install their own HVO Green D+ fuel station in July 2021.
Located at our High Wycombe base, the 20,000 litre bonded HVO Green D+ fuel tank or ‘fuel station’ has the capacity to fill all their diesel trucks, tenders and support vehicles when in base. This initiative is available to all EMG fleet vehicles (formally CTV, Telegenic, Aerial Camera Systems and Broadcast RF).
The HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) Green D+ fuel has up to 90% reduction in net CO2 greenhouse emissions when compared to regular diesel and is therefore significantly better for the environment than regular diesel or biodiesel.
The Fuel is made from waste:renewable feedstocks (classified by EU’s REDII legislation) as waste and residues from industry that are unfit for animal or human consumption (use HVO Waste for albert certification) .
The carbon emissions EMG have saved for the calendar year July 2021 – July 2022, equating to a saving of 310 tCO2e. This is equivalent to powering an average UK house for over 103 years!
